Yiselle Santos Rivera, AIA, NOMA, NCARB, LSSYB, WELL AP, LEED AP, is a medical planner and the Firmwide Director of Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion at HKS, Inc. With national and international experience on a broad range of healthcare, sports, residential, institutional, and commercial/mixed-use projects, she thrives on designing for inclusive communities and empowering the next generation of leaders in the design industry. As a leader she focuses on creating workplace environments that promotes psychological safety, builds belonging, and mirror the communities served.
She is the co-founder of the Latin American Interior Designers, Engineers, and Architects (LA.IDEA) DC Committee and the past chair of the AIA DC Equity Committee, and founder of “Women Inspiring Emerging Leaders in Design” (WIELD), which received the 2019 AIA Diversity Program Recognition Award. Yiselle also served on the AIA National Associated Committee (NAC) as 2015-16 Mid-Atlantic Regional Associate Director and 2017-18 At-Large Director of Advocacy and Community Engagement. During her tenure, the Emerging Professionals WolfPAC won the AIA ArchiPAC’s ArchiCup for most money raised and greatest number of donors. Later, she served as the 2019 Strategic Council Associate Director and in 2020, served on the AIA National Board as Associate Representative. As a member of the 2020 AIA COVID-19 Health Impact Task Force, Ms. Santos led the creation of the Additional Considerations section of the AIA Alternative Care Site Preparedness Assessment Tool V2.0 providing measures in support of ethnically diverse and marginalized populations, now translated into 3 languages. During this time, Yiselle also served a two-year term on the AIA Equity and the Future of Architecture Committee, supporting the development of the AIA Guides for Equitable Practice Executive Summaries.
Currently, Ms. Santos is the AIA DC Chapter Board Treasurer, an AIA New Urban Agenda and a Reimagining America Taskforce member, and the appointed Chair of Research and Development to the NOMA National Leadership Council. Yiselle is a published author, national speaker, and has been featured on various industry podcasts. She is a storyteller, a 2015 Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program Scholar, and a recipient of the 2018 AIA Associate Award.
Mike Slaton
Prior to working for LPF, Mike worked for Louisville Metro Government for 10 years, and he helped form the city government’s first LGBTQ employee resource group before he left. Mike is a graduate of St. Francis High School in Louisville. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Louisville and his Master of Public Administration from Indiana State University.
Mike volunteers with Every1 Reads and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. He has served on the board of the Fairness Campaign and the Kentuckiana Association of Volunteer Administrators. Mike and his husband Jake were among the first legally married same-sex couples in the state of Kentucky, and they became foster parents in 2018. In addition, they have two dogs, Pepin and Selena. Mike enjoys hiking, studying history, and attending the ballet and orchestra
Mitch Savoie Hill is a Certified Professional Coach, TEDx Speaker and Corporate Trainer with over 25 years of Hospitality and Leadership experience. She started in the hospitality industry as a Singing Waitress in New York City when she was 18 years old. She later went on to manage teams for international companies in the restaurant, hotel, and community association management industries.
Working in high-stress, fast-paced environments, and unique markets, such as Miami, New York, and LA, Mitch Savoie Hill developed best practices for dealing with different personalities and inspiring cooperation among diverse teams.
Mitch attended New York University’s renown Tisch School of the Arts, where she mastered the art of performance and public speaking. She shares these tools currently in coaching managers and executives to deliver engaging presentations.
In November of 2020, Mitch had the honor of being asked to share a dynamic TEDx talk about identity and rising above the limiting “boxes” we place upon ourselves and others.
She is deeply passionate about teaching, mentoring, and delivering dynamic keynotes and classes for managers, corporate leaders, and teams.
As the founder and CEO of SavHill Consulting, Mitch helps her clients clarify their goals, map out their strategies and turn roadblocks into runways to success!
