Energy-efficient Roof Systems: Building Owner and Design Professional Training
This half-day educational program brings commercial building owners and design professionals up-to-date with regard to energy awareness as it relates to roofing. The program's discussion modules address the following:
• Factors influencing energy awareness, including energy usage and consumption, global warming and urban heat islands
• Financial incentives at federal, state and local levels
• Energy standards and building codes
• Energy programs, innovations and incentives
• High-performance design options, including photovoltaic and cool roofing technologies, green roof systems and wind generation
Accreditation: 4 AIA Learning Units
Noon – 1PM: Registration for afternoon program and lunch for both morning and afternoon participants.
1:00 – 5:00 PM: Focus 4 Safety Program
Focus 4 Safety is a half-day program that examines the four safety hazards that, according to OSHA, account for the greatest number of preventable fatalities in the construction industry: electrical, struck-by, caught-between and fall-related hazards. During the program, you will discuss the primary causes of the top OSHA citations for hazard fatalities and learn how to recognize and respond to those hazards as they apply to the roofing industry and your company. This program is designed for roofing workers, foremen, supervisors, safety directors and business owners.
