2003 AIA - CSI Trade Fair

Exhibitors and attendees alike have said the 2003 AIA/CSI Trade Fair one the best shows ever! 87 booths were sold and the official attendance was 379 (168 pre-registered and 211 walk up registrants). 60 people made reservations for dinner and a chance to hear former Mayor David Armstrong, who spoke on the importance of design in the new metro Louisville. He also talked about his pet project, the Extreme Park. In lieu of an honorarium, he asked the Trade Fair to make a donation to the Extreme Park. Because of the dinner, the attendance did not drop off at the end of the show as has been the case in past years. This excited exhibitors.

We also did very well financially. We are pleased to announce the Trade Fair made around $23,000 profit, which will be split equally by AIA/CKC and the Louisville Chapter of the CSI.

As always, many, many prizes were given out, some by the Trade Fair and many others by exhibitors. Some attendees walked away with more than one prize. I would like to congratulate Te Andre Sistrunk, who won the $500 grand prize.

Mark your calendars. The 2004 AIA/CSI Trade Fair is already scheduled, it is Tuesday, March 2, 2004. Jonathan Keith will chair the 2004 show, and his committee will work hard to make next year's show even better. If you are interested in serving on the Trade Fair committee, let Jonathan or myself know. There is always room for more help.

Thank you for helping make this year's show one of the best ever.
